Fieldfisher has launched a two-week legal work experience programme aimed at candidates who are from underrepresented backgrounds in the legal profession.
The firm has partnered with exercise equipment company Peloton to run the scheme, which will provide successful applicants with the chance to gain work experience at a top City law firm, develop personal and professional skillsets, and build networks.
The in-house legal team at Peloton will share their insights regarding what a client looks for and expects from its lawyers, while offering a picture of what their working day looks like.
Those who are accepted onto the scheme, which will take place between 20 June 2022 and 1 July 2022, will be eligible to apply for another two weeks of work experience with Peloton for an opportunity to work with the company’s in-house legal team. The two-week Peloton in-house experience will take place from 4 July 2022 and 15 July 2022 for candidates who secure a place.
Underrepresented students and graduate groups accessing the legal profession include, but are not limited to:
- students from a minority ethnic community;
- LGBTQ+ students;
- students with a disability;
- state-educated students;
- neurodiverse students;
- students who are the first generation to attend university; and
- students who require financial assistance, which is unavailable via private means, to be able to continue their education.
Fieldfisher review applications on a rolling basis, so applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible on their website.
